The Elcock Family installed HippoTile flooring in their mobile stables in February 2016.

They have been a great success and are noticeably much warmer and dryer than concrete floors.

Belinda Brereton.

Belinda has been a HippoTile user since 2009. Convinced of their many benefits, she has offered to become one of our Brand Ambassadors.

Here Belinda is seen with her wonderful horse Captain Negro C, while at Somerford Park, Premier League Dressage competing at Prix St. Georges.

In 2016, we installed another HippoTile stable for Belinda's new young horse Galaxy Moone, also by Negro. Belinda is sure that his young joints and muscles will benefit from the much more forgiving floor. Using less bedding means less dust is generated, and draining urine from the stable as soon as it is produced means that far less ammonia is formed. Better air quality, fewer respiratory issues!

Jancis Tulloch. St. Martins, Wrexham.

Ex Badminton and Burghley eventer, Jancis Tulloch, is now guiding her son Thomas through Pony Trials.
Both ponies are enjoying the benefits of HippoTiles.
Everyone involved, including Thomas and younger brother, Archie, are enjoying the quicker and easier maintenance aspect of HippoTiles.

Thomas is now sponsored by HippoTile. On 1st June 2014, at Brand Hall, he and Spirit won the FEI Pony Trial Championship. Great excitement and many congratulations! On 31st May 2015, they repeated their achievement. 17 year old Spirit's joints are undoubtedly benefitting from his HippoTile floor and the ammonia free environment is much appreciated.

Kate has been using the HippoTile system in her wash box since she moved into her lovely new yard in 2012.

' I love them,' Kate reports. What is really brilliant is that they are non slip. Rubber in wash boxes becomes slippery. My HippoTiles have not. I really appreciate this.'

Chester Zoo

In March 2014, Chester Zoo the acknowledged world leaders in matters of animal welfare and enrichment for animals in captivity , allowed us to install a HippoTile Trial Site in the Tapir House.
The tapirs, Cuzco and Jennifer, and their son, Zathras, born August 2014, really enjoy the more natural ground of woodchip on HippoTiles. Their keepers are saving time in their busy schedule. The amount of time needed to tend the bed has dropped from 'about an hour' to 'miniscule' and 'barely any' bedding now needs to be discarded.
Because the urine now drains away where it occurs, just like in the wild, ammonia is not formed and there is significant odour reduction which benefits the keepers, the tapirs and their visitors!

In July 2015, after over a year's trial, including the winter period, an agreed Report was written:

'The HippoTile System is fulfilling expectations in all respects. We are hoping to incorporate HippoTiles into the next phase of The Islands development.'

"As well as appreciating the much quicker mucking out time and the fact that I am using one sixth of the bedding I was, resulting in a much smaller muck heap, one of our ponies is very feisty at feedtime. On concrete he used to slip and slide; now he is very secure. Even if he did fall, he would not damage himself."

Sarah Ormrod, Wrexham, North Wales.

Installed July and September 2013, HippoTiles have been used on top of existing concrete and instead of rubber matting.

Sarah (BE Eventing, BD Dressage), photographed here with Janet Warner of HippoTiles, installed two HippoTile floors in July 2013. Sarah quickly realised how much bedding and valuable time and ENERGY she was saving, and has since HippoTiled her remaining six stables.

Sarah has also discovered that now she has HippoTiles, she is happy to use straw as bedding.

We created drainage under the HippoTile flooring which takes the wet into an existing drain.

Installed December 2012, HippoTiles have been used as flooring instead of concrete and rubber matting.

Jan and Scally.
Jan has been delighted with how much better Scally has been when stabled on HippoTiles. Last winter she was stabled overnight on a conventional floor with rubber matting. Scally's arthritis and lymphangitis flared up badly and Jan felt she had to stop keeping Scally in overnight. This winter, stabled on HippoTiles, Scally has not been troubled by either of these problems and she has been brought in at night throughout the winter.

When Scally had her routine visit from her equine osteopath this Spring, she remarked 'I cannot believe this is the same horse!'.

Yard owner Alison is looking forward to having HippoTiles installed for her horse. In the meantime, her dog Muttley is enjoying the benefits of HippoTiles in his kennel.

" Far fewer foot infections. Relieves arthritis and other joint pain."

" Since we have had HippoTiles our problems with foot infections have practically disappeared. It is very wet here and in the past, they were a regular and very annoying occurance. Also, my very dear old hunter, Hammy, who lived well into his 20's was troubled with arthritis. This improved enormously when he was stabled on HippoTiles. His blacksmith noticed almost immediately how much easier it was to trim his feet."

Our scientifically researched measurements show that HippoTiles have over 50% less impact resistance than concrete. This, combined with the insulation they provide, means that they are much more comfortable for everyone, whether they have four legs or two, with or without arthritis.

Installed September 2011, HippoTiles were used to create a draining floor on flat concrete.

This installation has been a huge success. Throughout the winters Wendy uses the stable to bring her horse in overnight. Using straw as a bedding, she finds she needs to use a fraction of what she used to use.
'I am as happy as Larry,' she reported.
In the Spring, the stable is used for lambing ewes.
'The drier and cleaner environment provided by the HippoTiles is a great health advantage.'

Installed in May 2011, this HippoTile EcoStable has been a great success.

Lucy, her children Flora and Ned, and her helpers Sarah and Alice, all have many positive things to say about HippoTiles.

'I am sure that we were using HippoTiles and not concrete was a great help in securing planning for this stable. We all love the comfortable, quiet, calm and cosy environment we have here.'

'All the ponies love lying down on their HippoTiles. Those that are 'free-ranging' love to come in to lie on their warm dry beds.'

'One of our ponies had capped hocks. Previously the scabs kept being knocked off and reforming. Now they have healed and not appeared again.'

The pole barn has been to constructed to allow the horses to 'free-range' as required
